Background Kenya was born as the oldest son into the first branch family of the Oshitari family, well-known for their long lasting tradition in the Healer profession, dating back as far as the Heian era. The family is very big about tradition, lead by his uncle, one of the most famous and recognized Healers in entire Japan. All children of the Oshitari family are without exception expected to follow the family tradition, to which some respond kinder than others. Kenya doesn’t rebel against the path chosen for him, as he’s grown up among sick people, in a hospital and adoring his father for all the kindness and gentleness the man has showed his patients. Kenya has a strong desire to make something worthwhile in his life. Among his many cousins, he’s closest with his first cousin Yuushi, to the point where they are close as brothers. They keep exchanging correspondence frequently, their exchange alternating between gentle care and competitive banter.

Core Classes | Electives | ♦ Charms ♦ Transfiguration ♦ Potions ♦ Defense Against Dark Arts ♦ Herbology | ♦ Arithmancy
♦ Care for Magical Creatures |
His best class is Arithmancy and Potions, but he’s got a good head on his shoulder and the privilege of having his worst classes cut off already, so he’s mostly got good marks. DADA classes can sometimes be more of a challenge, since his combative magic isn’t the strongest and sometimes the memorizing in Herbology and Charms is tough. His mind is mostly logical and deductive, so Potions and Arithmancy, along with Transfiguration are his best class.
On the insistence of his family and for better understanding of the human form and nature, he trained to become an animagus, a thing he achieved recently. He transforms himself into a Peregrine Falcon. His specific recognition marks are the blue eyes, instead of the usual grey ones and the lighter coffee brown tone of his feathers, instead of the dark brown/black.
His patronus has the form of a Cheetah.
Cheetah Those with this patronus is incredibly ambitious, and at times very impatient. They like their animal, have the tendency to rush into things or want to get things done quickly. They often look at the big picture rather than the small details, and focus on this in everything they do. Those who are tedious test their patience and annoy them greatly. They are always looking to have a good time or jump into the next activity of their choosing.
Cheetah is a reminder that things are moving with great speed. Keeping focused on the direction and on the goals in order to find the most direct way of achieving our dreams is essential. Occasionally a focus on all aspects of a plan and be a little more flexibility in the revisions will be necessary in order to attain our goal. Being clear with intentions and what it is we are trying to create. Being aware of spreading ourselves a bit too thin in trying to accomplish too much or having to many goals at the same time.
Cheetah people have a great capacity for empathy and know exactly how to respond to the hurt, pain and suffering of others. They are fearless in the art of tough love and will tell it exactly as it is but have a way of saying these things so that the “punch” is removed from the delivery. They also respond quickly and instantly to all opportunities as well as dangers in their life. They have a tendency to be solitary and are very choosy as to who they trust and bond with.
A Cheetah tells us that we may need to get up out of that chair and get moving. Be more active in pursuit of our goals. It could also be letting us know that we cannot outrun our current problems or situation, unable to escape them and will have to take some sort of action. It can also symbolize that something is missing in our life – or that somehow we keep missing the purpose in our life. Alternatively a Cheetah may want to appear to us when you are trying to move on in life and something keeps bringing you back to the the same dilemma.
 Peregrine falcon
The Falcon animal totem comes to us when we require higher vision, or higher knowledge in solving current dilemmas in our lives. The Falcon is a solar emblem for success, victory and rising above a situation. At its core, the Falcon animal totem represents visionary power, wisdom, and guardianship. This powerful bird awakens visionary power, and leads you to your life purpose.
The Falcon carries with it a message of transition and change. It is a migratory bird rather than sedentary - it is found throughout the world and tends to travel great distances. The Peregrine is most often used in falconry due to its keen intellect and incredible ability to calculate or judge its prey. Falcon animal totems encourage us to calculate and strategize. If we have a goal, Falcons beckon us to make plans and strategies to obtain these goals. Falcons are all about focus - strong, one-pointed focus. When they show themselves to us, we are being called to focus on our desires and our goals, and do what is necessary to bring our desires into our reality.
The fact that the Falcon is a solar creature could mean there is something in your life that you are highly passionate about, and the Falcon is asking you to take action on this passion. But be smart about it - don't jump into something without doing research and planning. Make your passion a reality by persuing it methodically and as stratigically as the Falcon would persue his hunt.

Wand
His wand core is made of Kirin Scale, inserted into a 11 ½ " Hawthorn wand of pliant quality.
He can be as insecure as determined, as quiet as he can be loud, brave, while inclined to turn around and run away. He’s full of contradictions, but makes the impression he gives, is of one whole, easygoing and happy boy.
Wandlore Kirin Scale One of the rarest, most awesome, and most powerful creatures ever known in East Asia is the unicorn-like kirin. It is a regal animal, holy and highly revered, and often considered a god in its own right. The kirin is a chimerical beast resembling a deer with scales like a dragon’s covering its body. It has a tail like an ox’s and a flowing mane. Its body and mane are covered in brilliant holy fire. Its face is the picture of utter serenity.
A gentle animal, the kirin never eats the flesh of other beings, and it takes great care never to tread on any living thing, even lowly insects. When it walks, it does so without trampling a single blade of grass. Kirin never harm good and pure souls, but they are swift and fierce to attack if threatened, breathing holy fire from their mouths.
As a wand core, the hair from their manes and tails, as well as their scales are preferred, which both give a slightly different nature to the wand. The hairs have the tendency to make wands suited for purification and healing spells, while the ones with the scales seem to show a greater prowess in protection charms, but this is all to be seen in the combination of the wood, length and flexibility. Many a miracle healings have been accounted to a kirin scale core wand.
Hawthorn The wandmaker Gregorovitch wrote that hawthorn ‘makes a strange, contradictory wand, as full of paradoxes as the tree that gave it birth, whose leaves and blossoms heal, and yet whose cut branches smell of death.’ While I disagree with many of Gregorovitch’s conclusions, we concur about hawthorn wands, which are complex and intriguing in their natures, just like the owners who best suit them. Hawthorn wands may be particularly suited to healing magic, but they are also adept at curses, and I have generally observed that the hawthorn wand seems most at home with a conflicted nature, or with a witch or wizard passing through a period of turmoil. Hawthorn is not easy to master, however, and I would only ever consider placing a hawthorn wand in the hands of a witch or wizard of proven talent, or the consequences might be dangerous. Hawthorn wands have a notable peculiarity: their spells can, when badly handled, backfire.

History |
 | As mentioned before, Kenya has been born into an ancient, pureblood family of healers, which has set his life pretty much in stone, even before the days he had been born. At the age of 7, he’s been admitted to Mahoutokoro, continuing to the boarding school, when he reached 11. From the classes he took, to what he would become, everything had been predetermined by the predicament of his birth, one which Kenya never resisted. Maybe because he felt it futile, or because he didn’t mind, he never found the time to ponder about it, and never felt inclined to either. If something is futile, there’s little reason to lose your time and energy on it, in Kenya’s opinion. His family was also the one who pushed him into becoming an Animagus, but he has no regret over that, as being the fastest animal that there is on Earth, is absolutely fabulous.
Over the time he’s spent in Mahoutokoro, he became best friends with Shiraishi Kuranosuke (or as he affectionately calls him “Kura”). In all honesty, he’s developed a major crush on his caring, wonderful best friend, one that he knows is futile, as Shiraishi had first been engaged, then got himself a boyfriend apparently and ‘eloped’ to Hogwarts. After Shiraishi’s disappearance, one that he had no idea about, Kenya was determined to follow his friend, give him a piece of his mind and to ask him personally about everything, as the sudden departure sparked all too many rumors. There are things he wants to confirm, and honestly, he misses his best friend. It’s also an opportunity to be away from his admittedly difficult family, something that he’s grateful for. |
|
Personality |
In spite of his strict upbringing, Kenya is a sunshine and a goofball most of the time. His favorite things to do are to hang out with friends, engage in healthy rivalry and play Quidditch. He hates being slow, thus he never stops, never takes a break, just keeps going, living from minute to minute, enjoying life in full and fast strides. He hates to wait, or when things are dragging and he’s quick to lose his temper when agitated. He’s playful and aims for the top, but also remembers to stay on the solid ground of facts (in spite of his animagus being a bird).
Sometimes he can come across as over confident, maybe a little arrogant and too sure of himself, but all of that comes from the insecurity rooted deep inside of him. Ever since his childhood, he’s been compared to better people, or to his ‘more talented cousins’, or to his ‘amazing A-class best friend’, never good enough, always second best. When he loses, or falls down, he falls deep and it’s hard to get up again, like a falcon with a broken wing, or a cheetah with an injured leg. Being smart, he tends to overthink things to the point, where it stops being healthy. When he’s being dumb like that, clonk him over the head and let him know how slow and stupid he’s being, or else he’ll have a hard time getting better. |

Sexuality and Relationships
|
Orientation: It differs between canons and games, but most Kenya’s tend to be anything between 3 and 6 on the Kinsey Scale. You’d be hard pressed to find arguments that his blind admiration to Shiraishi is anything else than a crush, or his bromance with Zaizen and Momo has chemistry far beyond the casual manly friendship, or that there’s this mildly incestual rivalry with Yuushi of proving who’s better. He tends to bond strongly to other males, more than to females, but I believe with the right CR he can go with girls as well.
He’s sorta romantic, but subtly so, unlike his cousin. To him a relationship might be more about having fun together, enjoying the shared time and about trust and loyalty, though he’s fine with something casual as well, as long as there’s trust and understanding. Being from a family of healers, sex can be to him as much as a form of affection, as a healthy and excercise. He might be mildly demisexual in this regard, as he seems to form a bond first before defaulting to attraction. He’ll enjoy having friends with benefits, as much as he’ll enjoy being in a steady, monogamous and devoted relationship.
